About QiGong for MTs & Bodyworkers Workshop

Workshop Objectives:
This class is designed to provide the athletic trainer, massage therapists, fitness professional and health care worker with techniques used to enhance recovery from injuries. Upon completion of the class you will be able to:
- Use the various types of regulating breaths
- Identify both Active and Passive QiGong exercises
- Evaluate the benefits of a QiGong practice in the Health Care Sector
- Learn to incorporate psotures in sports specific applications
- Adapt QiGong principles to sports training, massage and bodywork sessions.
- Students will practice simple stretches for the fingers, hands, wrists, arms, shoulders and back
- Students will learn methods of breath and muscle relaxation to help them prior to and after a treatment session.
- Students will receive a basic knowledge of the meridians of the body and how these meridians affect the flow of energy and breath throughout the body.
- Students will practice how to release pent up stress in their own muscle to prevent muscle cramping, such as a Charlie Horse.
- Students will learn how to instruct their own clientelle on how to breathe in order to improve their own iverall health and harmony.
Workshop Overview:
Note: Students should wear comfortable clothes. Shoes are optional. Bring your own towel, water, and lunch.
